Thomas L. Jones, deputy director, is a graduate of Calvert High School and Leadership Southern Maryland 2019. He has been with Calvert County Government for the past 10 years where he started as a compactor site supervisor with Solid Waste. In 2015, he transferred to Fleet Maintenance where he was responsible for billing service tickets, scheduling and pricing work orders. In 2016, Jones was promoted to Buildings & Grounds division chief. In 2018, Fleet Maintenance was absorbed into General Services and Jones was promoted to deputy director of General Services. He is responsible for 60 employees within five divisions: Buildings and Grounds, Fleet Maintenance, Mosquito Control, Custodial Services and General Services. He worked in plumbing for eight years and flooring for 16 years before joining Calvert County Government. His volunteer work is commendable, including being team captain for the Calvert County Government Christmas in April team in 2019, a logistics team member for Relay for Life for the past eight years and a Calvert Marine Museum event setup volunteer.
