Come frolic in the Fairy Lolly and explore our magical village of fairy houses and gnome homes, each lovingly created by children.

Take one hike each month every month in 2022 on the ACLT trails and win some really cool prizes! Not to mention all the great benefits to your physical and mental health and well-being! It's free to participate. Every time you visit the ACLT trails, use the QR code located at all trailheads to ensure your hike is counted. All adults who complete the challenge will win ACLT merchandise. Choose from water bottles, knit hates, gaiters, mugs or baseball hats. Children will receive free ACLT decals and stickers.

Come explore this charming outdoor exhibit of more than 75 handmade houses scattered throughout the trails and woods of the garden. Made by wonderfully creative artists from the community (and beyond), this exhibit features works in all media.

We have an epic weekend planned this year including a cocktail party, great food, drink, and much more! Summer is a great time to use your boat and meet other MJM Yacht owners on the Chesapeake. Please make sure you register each individual attending so we can get a proper headcount. Thanks!

We are pleased to continue our traditional, small-town atmosphere farmers' market for the 2022 season! The farmers' market season will be from May 7 through October 22 and will be held on Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 pm in the parking lot of the North Beach Senior Center. The market will include local vendors with items such as plants, farm vegetables, baked goods, meats, cheeses, eggs and other fresh goods. The Town of North Beach encourages all guests to HELP REDUCE WASTE by bringing your own bag and using the appropriate disposal containers provided at the market.

Buying local is easy with an abundance of fresh food from Calvert County’s farmers, agri-businesses and watermen. Calvert County’s weekly farmers markets return with early harvests ready for sale. Late spring markets include bedding plants (vegetables, herbs and flowers), hanging baskets, tasty salad greens, asparagus, kale and strawberries; selections will vary by market. Visit your favorite vendors from last year and find exciting new offerings at each market.

Learn how to reduce your ecological footprint and conduct your life in a way that is sustainable, naturally balanced, and respectful of our relationship with the Earth. Explore the links between a healthy you and a healthy world, including your mental and physical health, diet, home & yard, transportation, and resource and energy consumption. Talk with green product and service exhibitors and learn more about how we can create a healthy community. Learn how and where to buy local. Meet creative people working to make this a better world. It's a day full of inspiration and new ideas!

Every year, volunteers are given the opportunity to see what it is like to be an archaeologist and excavate an actual site, through our Public Archaeology Program. You can help us dig and screen for artifacts in the field or wash objects at the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab. Each day offers opportunities for those who want more than just digging. You can come as often as you want – an hour, a day, the entire month! It’s a fun way for the whole family to learn about the past. Who knows what great discoveries await you? Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no fee, but space is limited and registration is mandatory.

A perfect trip for beginners to learn about kayaking and get out on the water. We will focus on basic kayak skills and the ecology of the Patuxent River. If bringing your own kayak, you will need to arrive early to off-load your boat and park. Parking space is limited.

Engage the family with fun-filled activities, including balloon artists, arts and crafts, pony rides, petting zoo, face painting and games for all ages. Visit a Biblical Garden, Historic Christ Church, History of Christ Church Exhibit, and the One Room Schoolhouse. Check out antique and old farm equipment. Listen to music by the Port Tobacco Pickers. Food and Artisan vendors will be present all day.

Tails, Trails & Tales is sure to be a fun event for anyone who loves pets, nature, and/or books! Co-sponsored by Calvert Animal Welfare League (CAWL), American Chestnut Land Trust (ACLT), and Calvert Library, the event will include demonstrations and booths from Calvert Search and Rescue, the Terrific Trick Trio, and many other pet-related vendors, plus nature exhibits, games and crafts, and a Story Walk by Calvert Library along the Griffin Meadow Trail. Food and drink provided by Linda’s Food Truck, Lucky Dog Ice, Gypsy Brewing Co. and Perigeaux Winery.

Relax and enjoy a leisurely one-hour sightseeing cruise on the river aboard the Wm. B. Tennison, a log-built bugeye. Capacity allows for 40 guests. If there is inclement weather, you will be notified by the crew prior to the cruise.

Join us on a 2-hour public sail aboard the historic vessel Dee of St. Mary’s, and experience the Patuxent River aboard an iconic Chesapeake Bay Skipjack. Guests will have an opportunity to help raise and lower the sail. Capacity allows for 30 guests. If there is inclement weather you will be notified by the crew prior to the cruise.
