The Kay Daugherty Gallery at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center will feature On Paper: Printmaking, Book Arts & Beyond. Selected work will highlight the expanse of printmaking and book arts as an artistic discipline. Techniques such as relief printing, etching, lithography, paper making, book binding, letterpress, collage and papercut will be explored. All works should showcase the unique process and craftsmanship that goes into each handmande paper, print, or collage. Select media welcome; small to large-scale works; indoor and outdoor works; cash awards will be presented.

After the highly modified racing season of 2020, and with the hope that Covid-19 will soon be in our wake, we’re all ready to get back on the water and regain the joy and camaraderie of racing on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. SMSA has teamed up with Annapolis Yacht Club once again to hold Screwpile on the same weekend as the AYC Fall Race to Solomons in late September. AYC’s race to Solomons on September 25th will serve as a feeder race for Screwpile which will be run on Sunday/Monday, September 26th/27th, with cooler temps and better wind expected! So, the 29th running of the Screwpile Lighthouse Challenge Regatta will be back in its traditional form in late September… two days of great racing with awards parties under the tent at Safe Harbor ZAHNISER’s Marina, Mt Gay, Red hats, and live bands each night.

Enjoy a one hour cruise on the river with a relaxing sightseeing cruise. On your cruise, you will cruise the busy Solomons inner harbor, see Solomons Island and the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, pass underneath the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and turn back at Pt. Patience and the Naval Recreation Center. Departures are from the Calvert Marine Museum dock. All cruises are weather permitting. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the Admissions Desk. Maximum capacity is 20 persons. Accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities with reasonable notice. No strollers allowed. All passengers must wear a mask for this one hour cruise.
