    CalvART is a cooperative gallery located in Prince Frederick, MD, and affiliated with the Arts Council of Calvert County. CalvART is a showcase for artists from Southern Maryland and highlights work from a wide range of styles and media. Our artists excel in paintings, pottery, jewerly, sculpture, woodturning and photography. "For The Birds" - Linocut prints of birds of all sorts, flying, foraging, flocking and floating. Also included are gourds made into fully functional birdhouses, painted and decorated to become whimsical habitats such as spaceships, creatures, and characters.

  4. Virtual - Calvert Marine Museum Fieldtrip Experiences!

  6. On Paper: Printmaking, Book Art and Beyond at Annmarie Garden

    The Kay Daugherty Gallery at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center will feature On Paper: Printmaking, Book Arts & Beyond. Selected work will highlight the expanse of printmaking and book arts as an artistic discipline. Techniques such as relief printing, etching, lithography, paper making, book binding, letterpress, collage and papercut will be explored. All works should showcase the unique process and craftsmanship that goes into each handmande paper, print, or collage. Select media welcome; small to large-scale works; indoor and outdoor works; cash awards will be presented.

  10. North Beach Farmer's Market 2021 Season

    The 2021 North Beach Farmers’ Market season is tentatively set for May 1 through September 25, 2021. We are pleased to announce changes to the market that will give it a traditional, small town atmosphere. The new North Beach Farmers’ Market will be held on Saturday mornings from 8 to 11 am in the parking lot of the North Beach Senior Center. The market will include local vendors with items such as plants, farm vegetables, baked goods, meats, cheeses, eggs and other fresh goods. The Town of North Beach will follow the State of Maryland’s masking order and physical distancing order for outdoor public areas that exist at the start of, and during, the Farmers’ Market season.

  11. Fossil Field Experience

    May 8, 2021, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Calvert Marine Museum

    At 9:00 a.m., you will meet CMM educators at Cove Point. The program leader will teach a short lesson on local Miocene fossils and what to look for. From 9:30 to about 11:30 a.m., you will explore the beach to search for fossilized shell, bone, and sharks' teeth. After fossil collecting you will work with the museum educator to identify any fossils you have found. The program ends at noon. Preregistration is required.

  13. Calvert Birding Trail Kick-Off

    Whether you’ve never picked up a pair of binoculars before or you are an experienced birder, you’re sure to find some interesting feathered friends in Calvert County! According to the Maryland Ornithological Society, Calvert County has had over 330 reported bird species. Most of the county is rural and habitats include tidal wetlands, freshwater marshes, beaches, forests, meadows, bay and river shorelines and even a cypress swamp. Calvert County is home to both common and notable bird species. Join us on May 8 (World Migratory Bird Day) at JPPM to kick off the Calvert County Bird Trail with lots of activities. No advance ticket purchase is required. Face coverings must be worn at all times by anyone over the age of 5. Bring your own picnic!
