    CalvART is a cooperative gallery located in Prince Frederick, MD, and affiliated with the Arts Council of Calvert County. CalvART is a showcase for artists from Southern Maryland and highlights work from a wide range of styles and media. Our artists excel in paintings, pottery, jewerly, sculpture, woodturning and photography. "For The Birds" - Linocut prints of birds of all sorts, flying, foraging, flocking and floating. Also included are gourds made into fully functional birdhouses, painted and decorated to become whimsical habitats such as spaceships, creatures, and characters.

    Run/Walk/Hike all 22 miles* of ACLT trails! Explore trails you’ve never tried before and conquer some of our more strenuous ones! NOTE: This is a challenge and not a race! You can complete it over several days or weeks – not necessarily all in one day (unless you want to!) All ACLT trails are open from dawn to dusk daily.

  4. On Paper: Printmaking, Book Art and Beyond at Annmarie Garden

    The Kay Daugherty Gallery at Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center will feature On Paper: Printmaking, Book Arts & Beyond. Selected work will highlight the expanse of printmaking and book arts as an artistic discipline. Techniques such as relief printing, etching, lithography, paper making, book binding, letterpress, collage and papercut will be explored. All works should showcase the unique process and craftsmanship that goes into each handmande paper, print, or collage. Select media welcome; small to large-scale works; indoor and outdoor works; cash awards will be presented.

  8. River Cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison

    Enjoy a one hour cruise on the river with a relaxing sightseeing cruise. On your cruise, you will cruise the busy Solomons inner harbor, see Solomons Island and the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, pass underneath the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and turn back at Pt. Patience and the Naval Recreation Center. Departures are from the Calvert Marine Museum dock. All cruises are weather permitting. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the Admissions Desk. Maximum capacity is 20 persons. Accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities with reasonable notice. No strollers allowed. All passengers must wear a mask for this one hour cruise.

  9. Virtual - Maryland in the Age of Sail Lecture Series: Battle of Hampton Roads & the Civil War on the Chesapeake & in Maryland

    Join Mark Wilkins, CMM Curator of Maritime History, as he explores topics ranging from European influences, to the tobacco trade, to the Civil War on the Chesapeake and more, through the 20th century. Today's discussion will chronicle the transition from the sailing Navy to one made of iron. See why the bay was so important during the Civil War, and discover ways Confederate raiders tried to out-smart the Union blockade of the eastern seaboard. Lectures begin at 5 p.m. and take place via ZOOM. A link to each lecture will be posted on this page prior to event. This seven-week series is free and open to the public.
