  2. Virtual - Calvert Marine Museum Fieldtrip Experiences!

The CMM Education Team has created FIVE new and unique programs for students K-5 to engage in activities focusing on paleontology, estuarine biology, and maritime history. Each program is available to public, private, and homeschool groups.   3. Mighty Marshes - Harvest!

    October 9, 2021, 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM @ Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM)

    Phragmites harvest will take place along the Patuxent river waterfront. Families/teams will receive a brief overview of the problem using info boards, and learn about their role in the solution. Teams will then split up and harvest their own patch. Bundles will be gathered nearby where they can be picked up by staff vehicles. Wear boots, long pants and long sleeves for field days. Bring a water bottle and sun protection. Not recommended for children under 6 years of age. Light refreshments will be provided.

  4. 13th Annual Calvert Arts Festival

    The Calvert Arts Festival began in 2007 to bring together southern Maryland artisans, wineries, food purveyors and entertainers to this quality juried event. Local brewers are now added to the mix, held annually on the second Saturday of May. Stroll All Saints’ lovely campus and inside its Parish Hall for quality artisan offerings. Live entertainment, silent auction and children’s crafts. Walk the labyrinth. Tour our historic church. Relax and enjoy the music.

  5. Calvert Artist Guild Show and Sale

    Southern Maryland Sailing Association

    Talented Southern Maryland artists will be showing their work inspired by the Chesapeake Bay and beyond, including mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, photography, mixed media, and jewelry. Come do some early Christmas shopping! The Calvert Artists’ Guild was founded in 1978 to promote the appreciation and practice of fine arts and crafts in Calvert County. The guild sponsors art shows, field trips and workshops for all artists and those interested in the arts.

  6. Patuxent River Appreciation Day (PRAD)

    Patuxent River Appreciation Day (PRAD), an annual celebration of the Patuxent River, will take place at the Calvert Marine Museum. A festival that brings together organizations from around Maryland to educate the public about the Patuxent River and how to keep it alive for future generations. We will have environmental exhibitors, non profits, free family fun, boat rides, music, food children’s activities, homespun arts and crafts and food.

  7. Empty Bowl Supper and Picnic

  8. River Cruises on the Wm. B. Tennison

    Enjoy a one hour cruise on the river with a relaxing sightseeing cruise. On your cruise, you will cruise the busy Solomons inner harbor, see Solomons Island and the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, pass underneath the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge and turn back at Pt. Patience and the Naval Recreation Center. Departures are from the Calvert Marine Museum dock. All cruises are weather permitting. Tickets are available for purchase online and at the Admissions Desk. Maximum capacity is 20 persons. Accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities with reasonable notice. No strollers allowed. All passengers must wear a mask for this one hour cruise.
