Do I have to show identification when I vote?
No. Maryland law currently does not require identification in order to vote. However, to comply with the Help America Vote Act of 2002, each applicant is required to provide a Maryland Driver's License or Social Security Number in order to register for the first time in Maryland.

If this information is not provided at the time of registration, identification will be required before voting can proceed. However, there are residency and identification requirements for same day registration.
