Groups Programs and Facility Rentals

Kings Landing Park located at 3255 Kings Landing Road, Huntingtown, MD 20639 offers the following facilities for rental. To check availability and make a reservation, please call 410-535-2661.

Tom Wisner Hall

Capacity: 160
Resources: 21 Round Tables, 6 Rectangular Tables, 160 Chairs, Catering Kitchen (no cooking allowed)  
Fees: $600 
Hours: Varies by season. Please note that all events must end and leave park property by park closing time.
Special Considerations: Beer and wine allowed pending approval from County.

Picnic Pavilion

Capacity: 100
Resources: Picnic Tables, Grill
Fees: Residents $150, Nonresident: $175 *+%
Hours: Varies by season. Please note that all events must end and leave park property by park closing time.
Special Considerations: No alcohol allowed

Youth Group Campground (tents only) or Youth Group Cabins

Fees: Based on group size. 1-50: $50; 51-100: $90; 101-150: $120; 151-200: $150
Hours: Varies by season
Special Considerations: Camping facility is for youth groups only, no individual camping permitted. No alcohol allowed

Youth Group Multi-day Day Camp (no overnight)

Fees: $1 per person per day; If desired, use of Wisner Hall $500 plus $100 security deposit (refundable if no damage or overtime)  
Hours: During park hours
Special Considerations: Fee includes the use of one pavilion.

Equestrian Ring

Fees: $100
Hours: Varies by season. Please note that all events must end and leave park property by park closing time.
Special Considerations: No overtime hours allowed. Event must end by closing time. No alcohol allowed

For all facilities, except Wisner Hall: Bathrooms are winterized between November and April. Groups must make arrangements for delivery and pick up of port-a-johns for their group.

% Calvert Non-Profit Organization discount of 50% available with valid proof of non-profit status on all identified items.
Discounts may not be combined.

Park Rules related to rentals. This is not a comprehensive list of rules, regulations, and policies.

The Natural Resources Division is able to arrange a limited number of special programs for groups--including schools, camps, adult, family, scouts, seniors. We require at least 30 days notice. Call 410-535-5327 to ask about scheduling a program. 

Policies for Staff-led Programs

1. The Division of Natural Resources makes facilities available for private events in select county nature parks.
2. Group reservations are subject to staff and facility availability.
3. A Group is defined as a number of people that are organized or otherwise coordinated in their visit to the park.
4. A Program is defined is a Naturalist-led or Ranger-led activity, park orientation, or other activity as approved by designated Natural Resources Staff.
5. Groups that are advertising their program to the public must comply with the Calvert County Parks & Recreation Special Events Policy.
6. Group reservations are subject to staff and facility availability.
7. Requests for group programs should be made at least thirty (30) days prior to the event.
8. Any group of ten (10) or more visiting Battle Creek, must have a program and pay the applicable fees.
9. Any group of thirty (30) or more, or a group of any size traveling via bus, visiting Flag Ponds Nature Park, must have a program and pay the applicable fees.
10. Any group of thirty (30) or more visiting Kings Landing Park must either reserve a facility or have a program and pay the applicable fees
11. All program fees must be received at least two (2) weeks before the program.
12. Smaller groups may reserve a facility or arrange for a program.
13. Smaller groups may visit “on their own” without renting a facility or scheduling a staff-led program, Availability of parking, facilities, and other park amenities is not guaranteed.
14. Any group paying a program fee will not pay the Flag Ponds Entrance Fee
15. Groups planned through an organization or business may still require additional paperwork.

Group Fees

Fees are determined by the size of the group, the ages involved, and the type of program requested. These fees do not include materials and supply fees or other facility rental fees, if applicable.

After Hours Fees

To have access of parks after normal park hours, this request must be made at time of reservation. After hour fees will be determined based on amount of time, staffing needs, and other direct costs for the program.

Group Offsite Trips

In county groups: $50
Out of county groups: $100 

Refunds

Refunds, less the prevailing administrative fee will be provided according the Refund Policy found in the Fee & Revenue Manual.

Kings Landing Park Tom Wisner Rentals

1. A minimum $100 down payment is due the day of booking
2. Balance of the rental fee  is due six (6) months prior to the reservation start date.
3. Cancellations requested prior to six (6) months from the reservation start date will receive a full refund less the prevailing administrative fees.
4. Cancellations requested between six (6) months to thirty-one (31) days from the reservation start date will receive a full refund for the rental fee minus the prevailing administrative fee and forfeit $100 from the down payment.
5. Cancellations requested between fifteen (15) and thirty (30) days from the reservation start date will receive a 50% refund for the rental fee.
6. No refunds for cancellations requested fourteen (14) days or less from the reservation start date.

Kings Landing Park Pavilion 1

1. $25 down payment due the day of booking
2. Balance of the rental fee  due thirty-one (31) days from the day of booking
3. Cancellations (refunds) requested at least fifteen (15) from the reservation start date will receive a full refund for the rental fee minus the prevailing administrative fee.
4. No refunds for cancellations requested fourteen (14) days or less from the reservation start date.

Kings Landing Park Camping, Cabins, or Equestrian Areas

1. The minimum $50 rental fee is due  fourteen (14) days from the day of booking
2. Any additional rental fees are due thirty-one (31) days from the day of booking
3. Cancellations (refunds) requested at least fifteen (15) from the reservation start date will receive a full refund for the rental fee minus the prevailing administrative fee.
4. No refunds for cancellations requested fourteen (14) days or less from the reservation start date.
